Photographer 1: Matthew Brandt
Matthew Brandt was born in 1982 in Los Angeles, CA which is his hometown and where he works. Brandt graduated from Cooper Union in New York in 2004, and then from UCLA in 2008. He plays with the very processes and materials of photography, creating startling interpretations of traditional landscapes. Brandt shoots Western landscapes, then, back home in the darkroom, soaks the prints in water he has collected from those same lakes. The longer he soaks his art the art the more abstract.

Photographer 2: Julie Blackmon
Julie Blackmon was born in 1966 in Springfield, MO which is where she lives and works. Her work precisely choreographed domestic scenes apply an uncanny sense of balance, color composition, and proportion to households in various states of child-provoked disarray. Blackmon's photographs have won numerous awards from such institutions as the Santa Fe Center for Photography and Photospiva, and has appeared in group and solo exhibitions at galleries such as Robert Mann in New York. Her most recent award was in 2008 for American Photo's Emerging Photographer of 2008.

Photographer 3: Valérie Belin
Valérie Belin was born in 1964 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. She is a French artist who currently lives and works in Paris. Valérie Belin undertook her art education at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Bourges in 1983 to 1988. She also studied Philosophy of Art at the Paris-Panthéon-Sorbonne University, where she obtained a DEA qualification in 1989. In 1994 Valérie Belin exhibited her work for the first time in Paris. She displayed a series of black and white photographs of crystal objects. In 2009 the Peabody Essex Museum hosted her first personal exhibition in an American museum.
