1. Rackstraw Downes paints landscapes.
2. He paints panaramic pictures of lanscapes that inspire him.
3. Painting Mountains show depth and height.
4. He likes the ligting and shadows of different scenes and landscapes.
5. He likes to keep his emotions out of his paintings.
6. He doesn't like when people paint or photograph the same areas he does.
7. The more you look at the landscape the more you see and wonder about the different angles of the scene and why you stood in the spot you did.
8. He likes to say he paints his surroundings not a landscape.
9. Painting is and unsolved solution and always will be because you can always paint more to the picture.
